Let’s get started on the best homemade guacamole!

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 3/4 cup of diced vine ripe tomatoes
  • 1 lime
  • 1 diced jalapeño pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 2 cloves of fresh garlic
  • 3 Tablespoons of finely chopped cilantro (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • Feel like adding an extra kick – 2 teaspoons Tajin Seasoning

Peel, Pit, & Mash The Avocados

Put all 4 peeled and pitted avocados into a large mixing bowl to mash. I like to use a handheld potato masher to do this. If you don’t have one, a strong fork will work too. Don’t over mash the avocados because they will get softer as you continue to add ingredients.

Add The Diced Tomatoes, Jalapeño Pepper, & Onion

Add the diced tomatoes, jalapeño pepper, and onion to the bowl and gently fold into the mashed avocados until all the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Add In The Spices

Add the salt, pepper, fresh garlic, and (optional) cilantro. I personally love cilantro but I’ve been told for some people it can taste like soap, and that’s why I say it’s optional. Once again, gently blend into the mixture until evenly distributed.

Squeeze The Lime

Add one freshly cut and squeezed lime into the mixture, and blend. I recommend using a lemon/lime squeezer for this step.

Serve Fresh

Your healthy and fresh homemade guacamole is ready to be served! Pair with your favorite chips or veggies. Guacamole makes an excellent option to pair with any protein if you are dieting and looking to avoid a starchy side dish. * And obviously an absolutely fabulous addition to tacos and nachos!

Storing Leftover Guacamole

Nobody likes brown guacamole! To preserve the integrity of your beautiful creation, store in an air tight container with a layer of cling-wrap placed directly on top of the guacamole. The less air that touches the guacamole, the greener it will stay.
